SERAPHINE ON SHOW

The success of the biopic Séraphine, winner of this year’s César award for best film and six other prizes, has aroused curiosity about the work of the painter it is based on, a housemaid named Séraphine Louis. A show of 10 of her paintings at the Musée Maillol in Paris has been extended until May 18. Dina Vierny, founder of the museum, bought the collection of Séraphine’s patron, the art dealer Wilhelm Uhde, when he died. The film will be come out on DVD on April 2.
