SEINE DINING SCENE
Parisians always scoff at the dinner boats plying the Seine because the prices are high and the quality of the food supposedly not up to snuff. A new entrant on the Seine scene, Paris en Scène, may change that. The price is right – €29 for a main course, dessert and soft drink (€35 with two glasses of red wine) – and the bistro-style menu was created by chef Patrick Charvet, who has worked at the Grand Véfour in Paris and the Trois Marches in Versailles. The 150 diners sit on leather armchairs facing outward to enjoy the view during the one-hour cruise. Leaves from the Pont St Michel on the Ile de la Cité, 75004 Paris, every day except Monday at 6:30 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. through November 4. Reservations: 01 41 41 90 70 or 06 09 43 93 17. Sounds like it’s well worth a try on a warm summer evening.
