STUFF OF DREAMS

tempest, cheek by jowl, chekhov festival

Shakespeare’s The Tempest, considered by many to be the playwright’s most poetic play, is being performed in Russian with French subtitles at the Les Gémeaux theater in Sceaux, in a co-production of the Chekov International Theater Festival in Moscow and the Cheek by Jowl company. This imaginative, poignant and highly enjoyable version, directed by British producer Declan Donnellan, reminds us that we are such stuff as dreams are made on. Pierre Tran
