MEAT-FREE HOME COOKING
Long gone are the days when it was almost impossible to get a decent vegetarian meal in a Paris restaurant. Now almost all of them offer at least one non-fish veggie option, and little places like the Tuck Shop (13, rue Lucien Sampaix, 75010 Paris; tel.: 09 80 72 95 40) are springing up here and there. Everything is homemade in this bright vegetarian lunch spot run by three friendly young women and agreeably furnished with flea-market finds. The menu, which changes with the seasons, offers creative sandwiches (e.g., Cantal cheese, figs, walnuts and arugula on whole wheat), salads, soups and savory tarts, plus divine cookies and brownies for dessert.
