Mísia at the Casino de Paris: One of Portugal’s most prominent fado singers, Mísia has never been reluctant to incorporate other styles into the traditional form. On her upcoming double album Ruas, she follows the saudade (the “blues” of fado, a kind of wistful nostalgia) in the streets of Lisbon, heads to Naples in the company of the Neapolitan group Avion Travel, and visits the songs of singers as far apart as Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails (“Hurt”) and Dalida (“Pour ne pas Vivre Seule”).
Casino de Paris: 16 rue de Clichy, 75009 Paris. Métro: Trinité. Wednesday, April 8 at 8:30 p.m. €29.70-€49.50.
