L’Eclair de Génie, Inaro

Single-minded concept

Paris Update Eclair de Genie

L’Eclair de Génie: Paris already has a concept store selling just cream puffs, Popelini, and now we have one selling only éclairs (and chocolate truffles). Not a bad idea, since most Paris patisseries sell only two types of éclairs: with chocolate filling and chocolate icing or with coffee filling and coffee icing, which can get dull. This is the Marais shop of top pastry maker Christopher Adam, whose more creative offerings include orange-pistachio and milk chocolate-mango-banana. 14 rue Pavée, 75004 Paris. Tel.: 01 42 77 85 11.

Paris Update Inaro

Inaro: An attractive, relaxing new spot for quality charcuterie, cheese or seafood platters and a glass or two of good wine, all from independent producers, served by two sweet young men, on the up-and-coming Rue de René Boulanger. 38, rue de René Boulanger, 75010 Paris. Tel.: 09 83 07 92 52.
