CLICHED KISSES FROM PARIS
You’ll want to shout “get a hotel” while watching the new video “Kisses from Paris,” directed by Yvan Attal (the actor/director who is married to Charlotte Gainsbourg). Produced by the Ile de France’s regional tourism board, the film shows a handsome, hip young couple snogging all over the city to the strains of Rufus Wainwright’s “Leaving for Paris.” Oddly, they speak English, with heavy French accents, to each other. While the film is shot in unusual locations like the Palais de Tokyo and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, it reeks of the cliché of Paris as a romantic city.
