NO VOTE FOR EXPATS

The French National Assembly has rejected a bill, proposed by the Socialist Party, that would have allowed citizens of non-European Union countries living in France the right to vote in French local elections, an idea proposed by former President François Mitterrand in 1981 that has never been approved. Expats will just have to continue to accept taxation without representation. EU nationals living in France already have the right to vote in local elections.
