LESS TOPLESS, MORE MODEST
Soleil worshippers may have noticed a change on French beaches this year: fewer bare female breasts. According to a survey conducted by L’Institut Tena/IFOP, going topless on French beaches is decidedly OUT. Women are putting their bikini tops back on and even wearing one-piece suits. A full 88 percent of respondents described themselves as “modest,” with one-quarter of 18 to 24 year olds claiming to be “very modest.” How will this affect tourism statistics in France?
