A number of French celebrities, including actors Mathieu Amalric and Carole Bouquet, and singer Juliette, will participate in a benefit performance of readings, film excerpts and music at the Théâtre du Châtelet (tel.: 01 40 28 28 40) on Nov. 9 in honor of the writer Colette. All proceeds will go toward the purchase and renovation of Colette’s childhood home (a.k.a. “La Maison de Claudine”) in Saint-Sauveur-en-Puisaye, in the Yonne, so that it can be opened to the public. The house is currently up for sale.
