“Bang #2” (2013), by Tina Merandon.

Three photographers take a fresh look at life in Paris’s “troubled” suburbs in an exhibition being staged by Chris Boïcos Fine Arts, “Le 93 dans le 10ième Arrondissement,”at the gallery Huit (8, bd St-Martin, through Oct. 30). Jean-Manuel Simoes uses biting satire in his juxtapositions of luxury logos and slogans with images of real people, Tina Merandon “captures the rage” of the suburbs in starkly staged and beautifully lit images of adolescents dancing or dogs attacking, while Vivian Van Blerk creates his own dream world inspired by the banlieues. Heidi Ellison
