Last week’s Autumn-Winter 2010-11 Haute Couture collections in Paris prove that the City of Light hasn’t relinquished its position as fashion center of the world. The collections of well-established houses like Chanel, Gaultier, Valentino and Elie Saab were as sumptuous as ever, while new designer talents like Gustavolins and On Aura Tout Vu – Lady Gaga’s favorite – are reaffirming couture’s eternal promise of beauty and luxury, and creating templates for the eternal Parisienne.
