The following list of restaurants represents a personal selection of Paris Update’s favorites. While these restauants may not be perfect in all respects, they meet our high standards for a great all-round dining experience, which basically means very good food and friendly, efficient service. Both are important to us, while decor, as long as a place is clean and not too ugly, matters less.
This is not a putdown of other restaurants reviewed on Paris Update – each review gives a fair assessment of what’s good and bad about each one – but simply a selection of those that we remember with special fondness, perhaps because the food was so incredible or perhaps because we had such a great time eating a fine meal there.
In short, these are the restaurants we would recommend to a friend. And, because they are not the paid listings you might find on other Web sites (which do not always admit to it), you can be assured of their objectivity. They offer a good starting point for choosing a place to eat in Paris.
