GOURMET’S DELIGHT
Paris Update Epicerie-St-Sabin

L’Epicerie Saint-Sabin, a gourmet grocery and deli recently opened near the Bastille, is a pure delight for lovers of food and wine. It offers not only an unusually wide selection of top-of-the-line prepared dishes (foie gras, pâtés, confit de canard, etc.), charcuterie (Bellota ham, Pata Negra, etc.), fine cheeses and French wines (with a special focus on the Midi-Pyrénées region), but also some of the implements that go with them, notably those from L’Atelier du Vin. More goodies – truffled salt, cassoulet, jam, fine teas, etc. – can be found on the shelves. Food from the deli counter and the plat du jour can be eaten at one of the four tables in the pretty shop. A great place for a snack and a glass of wine before the opera or a film in the neighborhood. 13, rue Saint-Sabin, 75011 Paris. Tel.: 09 67 29 89 33.
