Paris Update What’s New in Paris



It’s a step in the right direction. Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo wants to ban motor-vehicle traffic from a stretch of the Right Bank as of August 2016 and turn it into a playground for pedestrians, subject to approval from the City Council. Her predecessor did the same thing on part of the Left Bank a few years ago, and the project, called Berges de Seine, has been a huge success. Paris Update says Yes! to any plan that reduces the blight of automobile traffic in Paris, especially along the Seine, one of the most scenic spots in the city. Heidi Ellison
