The Broken Arm, a new, light- and flower-filled concept store and café with big windows overlooking the lovely Square du Temple, has opened in Paris’s Upper Marais. You can pick up a pair of Nike Roshe Run Woven shoes like those pictured below, a Kenzo handbag, a Carven coat, an art book or a ceramic bowl,

or just have a gourmet snack in the café, where the portions are small but the food is deliciously inventive: e.g., a salad of rice noodles, chicken, herbs, coconut milk and a hint of garlic.

The strange name is a reference to a work by Marcel Duchamp, “Shovel” (1915) a real snow shovel inscribed by the artist “In Advance of the Broken Arm.”
